This gene encodes a member of the PVR (poliovirus receptor) family of immunoglobulin proteins. Its product is expressed on several T cell subsets, including follicular B helper T cells (TFH), and binds PVR with high affinity, which is thought to facilitate TFH-dendritic cell interactions and regulate T cell-dependent B cell responses.
